November-December, 2003:
Marilynn Brandenburger

Marilynn's "Trilogy" was accepted into the 17th annual National Juried Exhibition at the Cultural Art Center in Douglasville, which ran through December 19th. The gallery is open weekdays, 9am - 5pm, and Sunday afternoons, 1-5pm. Admission is free. The arts center is located at 8652 Campbellton Street: go north from exit #36 off of I-20. The juror was Jerry Cullum, Senior Editor of Art Papers Magazine since 1997, and art critic for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. Marilynn's work was one of 47 pieces selected from more than 150 submittions by 50 artists working in six states and throughout Georgia. Marilynn's husband's photography is also featured in this exhibition - and was one of the Juror's choices.

November, 2003:
Gillian Gussack

Gus Gussack opened a solo show at Georgia Perimeter College gallery in Clarkston on October 30th with a reception from 5:00 -8:00pm. Halloween garb was encouraged at the opening! The exhibition is entitled, "Laughing Ladies" and represents two year's of work, including a series of colored pencil portraits, masks and figure sculpture finished in watercolor and colored pencil.

The Perimeter College gallery is located in the Fine Arts Building F at the corner of N. Indian Creek and Memorial College Ave. Directions: Take 285 to exit 41 Memorial Drive.Go east. About 1 mile outside the Perimeter, turn left on Memorial College Ave. past the Dekalb County Stadium. Another left onto N. Indian Creek and the Fine Arts Building is on your left. The gallery is on the first floor.

"Key elements of this luxury home near Atlanta, including the mosaic-accented fireplace that serves as the focal point of the great room, function as art within a compositional whole," builder/architect Randy Schwartz says. He calls the work "artchitecture."

From October 15 through December 21, 2003, you can see works by three Atlanta artists - Flora Rosefsky, Evan Levy, and Miriam Karp - at the Fine Family Art Gallery of the Marcus Jewish Community Center, Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Road. October, 2003: Ande Cook

In October of 2003, Ande Cook's paintings were on exhibit at the Art Station, at Big Shanty Park in Kennesaw. Hours are Mon-Thur 10-9, Fri 10-5, Sat 9-1, from Oct.1-31. The gallery, a division of Cobb County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs, is located in a restored historic property at 2050 Kennesaw Due West Road. July - September, 2003: Gus & Flora

Janice L. Metzel, Gillian "Gus" Gussack and Flora Rosefsky were part of "Taken From Within," a juried show at the Fine Family Art Gallery, Marcus JCC of Atlanta, located at Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody, GA, from July 16 - September 14, 2003.

Gus exhibited two sculptures, and Flora exhibited "60," a cut-paper piece reflecting this decade of her life. Janice, an established sculptor and new member of pARTicular Women, exhibited "Good Friends and Cheerful Conversation" a bronze pedestal. Other artists in this exhibit were: Leonard Bock, Aleta Ellin, Judie Jacobs, Dee Venzer and Howard Wurtzel. September, 2003: Pam & Cary

Pam Beagle-Daresta and Cary Cleaver exhibited together in September at the Art Startion/Big Shanty in Kennesaw. The show, entitled "Nature's Edges / Artists' Edges", featured watercolors and pastels by Pam paired with hand-colored photography by Cary.

August, 2003: Patricia Hetzler

Pat Hetzler's work was included in "Shadows: Interrupted Light," a juried show presented by genema gallery, located in Suite 101 of Christ Church Presbyterian, 81 Peachtree Park Drive (just north of Piedmont Hospital, across from Bennett St.) in Atlanta. The show hung through August 31st and was accompanied by a sermon series on the theme.
